“This life is mine alone. So I have stopped asking people for directions to places they’ve never been.”

― Glennon Doyle, Untamed

About me

Oh, hi!

I’ve always been one of those front row in class people— you know those annoying types, always with the hand up asking question after question? The ones you roll your eyes at when class is already over and they won’t stop talking? AND that person you also really want in your study group? That’s me!

Along with the burning desire for learning, I’ve also always had an engine of doing deep inside of me. I remember my mom saying “I hope she goes the right direction in life, because there is nothing we can do to stop her.” I was probably about 10 years old. She wasn’t wrong.

And boy, have I rolled my sleeves up and done some stuff in my life so far! Having a big successful career as a project manager at IBM, creating an amazing real estate business from scratch, competing in track meets and triathlons, hiking up a frozen mountain in Poland wearing almost nothing, etc. On the surface it might look like one big “perfect life” highlight reel, AND there is another secret behind the scenes of all those highlights: Quitting.

There was:

  • Quitting gymnastics after I broke my foot in grade 8, because I wanted to be a normal teenager instead of spending 25 hours a week training.

  • Quitting my Chemistry major after one semester of university (at the top of my class), because I realized I didn’t actually care what was happening in the test tubes.

  • Quitting IBM at the height of my career because I felt called to a new challenge.

  • Quitting drinking alcohol to face the hard and create a life I didn’t want to numb myself from.

  • Quitting (& selling) the business I built, because at a crossroads, the idea of going backwards rather than forwards was impossible for me.

What I’ve realized is that all that quitting was actually me walking away from “shoulds” in life and towards my own inner knowing. In the process I’ve found more joy, peace, satisfaction and success than I ever imagined possible. Along with all the learning I still do, I’ve also been unlearning so much to become more aligned with me.

So if you feel stuck, lost, frustrated, anxious, and need some help, I’ve got some good and bad news. The bad news is that I don’t have the answers. You do. The good news is that I have been nerding out studying business, wellness and personal development nearly my whole life and I have some excellent study notes I’d be happy to share with you.

It would be my honor to walk (or run) beside you uncovering what is holding you back and discovering what your true self wants and needs. Together we can put together a tangible, actionable plan to quit what isn’t serving you and create big and small changes to help you move forward. I’d love to help you create an honest, extraordinary life that you don’t want to escape.

xoxo,

Martha
